The Christmas day Festivities

25th December 2009
First we all went to Church - all but Mom and Dad. Below is Bruce and his family after the Christmas service. I hope Liam survives the chokehold.

Then we came home and the whole family came around for a super Christmas lunch, opening of pressies and pudding. During everything the Dad (Ted) just lay on his bed not even smiling when the great grand children came to give him their pressies, he has not even the energy to open them. Naturally the Mom (Helen) sits at his side as dutifully as usual. We are all expecting him to pass away this week or so. Pray for strength as we try and usher him into the presence of God as best we can.

The Saga Continues

23rd December 2009
Hi there to all my friends and family. In November I became a Supplementary Minister, that means I hold down a civilian job and minister on the side. :)

Above is a picture of Kirby, my trusty assistant catching a few zzzzz's. We are installing DSTV's in Kroonstad every day. Kroonstad is about 70 Km's from Welkom and I leave at about 6am every morning and get home long after the sun has set. I am finding it realy difficult to manage both jobs and give both the attention they deserve. But we are doing real good otherwise.

My Dad - Godfrey or Ted as some know him - is really frail and struggling with his health. He needs assistance to get up and move around and the doctors say they cannot do anything except and operation which will kill him :(  It is very difficult not being able to actually do anything to relieve the pain and make him at least a little cheerful as his life draws to an end. Pray for us in this regard please.

At the same time Mom is healthy but taking a bit of strain strain.

Well it is the Christmas holiday (4 days) for me from "tentmaking" work while I preach up a storm at church and catch up on the neglected church admin. I might just neglect it for another few months.

May God our Father keep you all and please do enjoy the season while giving honour to Jesus.

I have to clean the car for Christmas. Why? Well Elizabeth told me to, that is why.
Mark is taking Elizabeth and I to a movie tonight for our Christmas Pressie (We chose it) the movie is "2010" I will tell you what I thought of it tomorrow.
